Time travel is a feature I designed for Sdu - OpMaat that allows users to view the state of specific information sources at a different time.

The challenge
Opmaat is an online platform that curates the most relevant case laws, commentaries, and magazine articles to support legal professionals and students in their research endeavors. On occasion users have the need to look up information sources in a different time. The current Opmaat does not support this feature yet.
The solution
Based on the valuable insights gathered from extensive user feedback, I significantly streamlined the time travel functionality by reducing the number of clicks required to activate it, enhancing overall user efficiency and satisfaction. Additionally, I improved user awareness by implementing a clear and visible system status indicator that appears whenever the system is operating in time travel mode, ensuring users are always informed of their current state. Finally, the time travel pattern was thoughtfully designed with scalability in mind, allowing it to be seamlessly integrated and reused across other SDU products, promoting consistency and reducing future development effort.
